Ecological Sustainability Awareness and Promotion - ESAP
The Ecological Sustainability and Awareness Promotion (ESAP) is one of the prominent wings of the forum. The wing aims to concentrate on concerns related to environmental degradation. We all know that for the past few years the whole world is suffering a lot due to environmental issues especially due to climatic change. The main reason behind it is non-sustainable behavioural patterns adopted by humans. The forum had initiated activities for the protection and conservation of nature.
Initiatives for Global Climate Awarnes
Trivandrum - Global Climate Awarnes
RUF hosted Global Recall for Climate Action in solidarity with Greta Thunberg. The event held at Kanakakunnu saw participation of over 25 organisations and schools from across Thiruvananthapuram.
The event showcased flash mobs, a demonstration march with a cycle rally, static displays, a tree-planting drive, and thought-provoking interactive sessions from field experts.
The participating organizations expressing solidarity were namely, Fridays For Future India, Thanal Trust, Tree Walk Thiruvananthapuram, Sustera, Nallapadam, NSS Kerala, March for Science –Trivandrum,360 Degree, Coastal Student’s Cultural Forum – CSCF, Anannia – An Invitation for New Initiatives, Care Others Too CO2, Dolphins United, The Reading Room – Trivandrum.
Climate Awarness Kochi
A huge number of participants gathered at Fort Kochi beach to demonstrate climate action, RUF was able to conduct an interactive session with the enthusiasts about climate changes and their impact as frequent natural disasters.

Climate Awarnes Calicut
RUF Joined with Fridays for Future ‘demonstrations’ forces, organising a strong crowd at Mananchira which mainly focused on creating awareness by mobilising kids.
Climate Awarnes During Pandemic
Our cyclist volunteers carried the message of the Green Cover Project in and around Trivandrum covering 57 km with a very warm welcome all the way, mid Covid-19 pandemic. Volunteers planted more than 100 tree saplings (with follow-up) by taking all the necessary precautions as directed by the healthcare authorities to safeguard from Covid-19.

Beach Cleanups
Beach Cleaning was initiated as a part of RUF’s Global Climate Awarnes at Kochi and Calicut .
Volunteers Dug out all kinds of waste materials buried in the shores for months and segregated them as Inorganic, Non-Bio degradable plastic wastes respectively and sent to Calicut Corporation for recycling.
Plantation & Cleanup Drives
Wayanad
Team RUF has begun its 2-day clean-up initiative from Appapara to Thirunelli Temple
under North Wayanad Forest Division with support of Team Shikharangal and Mananthavady Janamaithri Excise Team.
Environmental Day
RUF organised state-wide plantation of seeds and saplings on World Environment Day at Thrissur, Kozhikode, Alappuzha, and Trivandrum. Hundreds of resolutions were initiated by the team members. RUF officially declared as Eco-Friendly strictly following the Green Protocol measures stipulated by Suchitwa Mission, Govt of Kerala.
Ready Set Grow
A lockdown challenge “Ready Set Grow” started as an initiative of the Southern Zonal Committee of the RUF and was later taken over by our volunteers irrespective of zones. Competitions were held for planting various species and categories of plants and people participating were appreciated for the same.
